CHILD THERAPY IN NEW CANAAN, CT + WESTCHESTER, NY

When your child is struggling, you feel it too.

What does it actually feel like when your child is struggling?

Maybe you're seeing more tears, more worry, more arguments—or a child who suddenly doesn't want to talk at all. School mornings are harder. Small disappointments become enormous. They're asking you the same worried question again and again.

You keep trying to figure out what's underneath it. Is this a phase? Anxiety? Something happening at school? Are you doing too much—or not enough?

And sometimes they seem completely fine everywhere else.

  • The stomachaches that show up before school

  • The meltdowns that seem to come out of nowhere

  • The constant need for reassurance

  • The friendship problem they can't stop thinking about

  • The perfectionism and fear of getting something wrong

  • Holding it together all day, then falling apart at home

Your child doesn't need to have the words yet.

How therapy works

Children don't always talk about what's wrong. Sometimes, they show us.

For children, therapy often looks different than it does for adults. Play, art, games, stories, and creative activities can give kids a more natural way to express feelings and work through experiences they may not yet know how to put into words.

Sessions are tailored to your child's age, personality, and needs. Through play and conversation, we help children make sense of big feelings, build confidence, practice new ways of handling difficult moments, and feel safe being themselves.

Parents are part of the process, too. We'll help you better understand what your child may be communicating through their emotions and behavior and find ways to support them at home.
